There are no translations available. „Es gibt inner- wie außerhalb Deutschlands keinen Musikchor, der nicht Gott und den Heiligen Lobpreisungen dargeboten hätte mit seinen Kompositionen, die sehr lange das Begräbnis unseres Toten überdauern werden.“ Mit diesen Zeilen aus der Biographie zu Valentin Rathgeber von Georg Ildefons Schatt, ein Benediktinermönch aus dem Konvent von Kloster Banz, der das Kloster noch aus der Zeit vor der Säkularisation kannte, begann der Präsident der Valentin-Rathgeber-Gesellschaft e.V. Berthold Gaß seinen Vortrag am 20.02.2010 über den Barockkomponisten Johann Valentin Rathgeber (1682-1750). Der Vortrag erfolgte im Rahmen der Wanderausstellung "Johann Valentin Rathgeber - Leben, Werk, Bedeutung" im Kloster Wechterswinkel. Die Wanderausstellung wird dort noch bis 28.03.2010 samstags und sonntags von 13:00 bis 17:00 Uhr zu sehen sein.

Wanderausstellung "Johann Valentin Rathgeber (1682-1750) - Leben, Werk, Bedeutung" am 29.01.2010 in Wechterswinkel eröffnet

Die Wanderausstellung "Johann Valentin Rathgeber (1682-1750) - Leben, Werk, Bedeutung" wurde am 29.01.2010 um 19:30 Uhr mit einem festlichen Konzert und mit einer Einführung zur Wanderausstellung im Kloster Wechterswinkel eröffnet. Die Präsentation der Ausstellung erfolgt gemeinsam mit der Kulturagentur des Landkreises Rhön-Grabfeld. Die Wanderausstellung versucht in verschiedenen Themenfeldern dem Phänomen Rathgeber nachzu- spüren, indem sie ihn in seine Zeit einordnet und den Kontext aufzeigt, in dem er gewirkt hat. Die Wanderausstellung wird im Kloster Wechterswinkel noch bis 28.03.2010 zu sehen sein. Öffnungszeiten: Sa., So. und an Feiertagen von 13.00 - 17.00 Uhr

Guide through the exhibition tour in the Bismarck-Museum in Bad Kissingen

Bad-Kissingen On Sunday, 10th January of 2010, took place a public guided tour of the Valentin-Rathgeber-Society e.V. through the touring exhibition "Johann Valentin Rathgeber (1682-1750) Life - Oeuvre - Significance" in the museum Obere Saline (Bismarck-Museum) in Bad Kissingen. The president of the Valentin-Rathgeber-Society e.v., Berthold Gaß, explained the life and work of Johann Valentin Rathgeber to the interested visitors.

The touring exhibtion "Valentin Rathgeber (1682-1750). Life - Oeuvre - Significance " seeks to trace the phenomenon Rathgeber in different areas by showing the time in which he lived and the context within which he acted. Rathgeber created a new music style with the maxim facileness (facilitas), brevity (brevitas) and suaveness (suavitas). As a southern German antipode of Telemann, he is an important connector between baroque and classical music. Furthermore, he gives the answer of the frequently asked question how it could be possible that Mozart was present shortly after Bach.

The exhibition will be shown till Sunday, 24 January, 2010 in the museum Obere Saline (Bismarck-Museum) in Bad Kissingen.

Regierung von Unterfranken erteilt stiftungsrechtliche Anerkennung für die „Valentin-Rathgeber-Stiftung“

Aushändigung der Anerkennungsurkunde durch Regierungspräsident Dr. Paul Beinhofer Regierungspräsident Dr. Paul Beinhofer hat am Mittwoch, 16. Dezember 2009, um 11.00 Uhr, in seinem Dienstzimmer in der Regierung von Unterfranken die Anerkennungsurkunde für die "Valentin-Rathgeber-Stiftung" ausgehändigt.

Die Stiftung wurde am 23. November 2009 von der Valentin-Rathgeber-Gesellschaft e. V., Oberelsbach, errichtet. Mit der Übergabe der Urkunde durch den Regierungspräsidenten wird das Stiftungsgeschäft rechtswirksam und die „Valentin-Rathgeber-Stiftung“ rechtsfähige öffentliche Stiftung des bürgerlichen Rechts.

Die Stiftung will die Erforschung des Lebens und Werkes sowie die Weiterverbreitung des musikalischen Werkes des Oberelsbacher Barockkomponisten Johann Valentin Rathgeber (1682 – 1750) fördern. Der Stiftungszweck wird insbesondere verwirklicht durch z.B. die finanzielle Unterstützung von Neueditionen, die Förderung von Konzerten, die finanzielle Unterstützung von wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten, die Förderung der Dokumentation über das Leben und Wirken von Valentin Rathgeber in Oberelsbach (z. B. Exponate, Informationsschriften, Rathgeber-Zimmer im Valentin-Rathgeber-Haus) und die Unterstützung des einschlägigen musikalischen und kulturellen Lebens in Mainfranken.

Die „Valentin-Rathgeber-Stiftung“ ist die 358. Stiftung im Regierungsbezirk Unterfranken.

"Valentin Rathgeber" was swingingly written on the facade in the schoolhouse in Unnersdorf. This was the motivation for both school classes (4_thgrade ) to visit the identically named touring exhibition in the city museum in Bad Staffelstein. At the entrance a life-sized figure with a cowl greeted the visitors as the componist was a Benedictine monk in abbey Banz. Additionally, a scalled model of his birthplace in Oberelsbach drew the students' attention. "This house has a lot of windows as it was a school building", said the leader of the museum, Adelheid Waschka, to the children. She introduced them into the lifetime of the musician, "and at the time of construction, they exercised carefully to facilitate plenty of light in the crassrooms". Due to their numerousness of students, the children of Unnersdorf were divided into different groups. One part practiced with museum co-worker Annette Krusenbaum after a "Body Percussion"-warm up some of the songs of Rathgeber Guided tour for children on October 16, 2009 for the school classes (4th grade) of Unnersdorf "Von der edlen Musik“ and „Alleweil ein wenig lustig“. Afterwards, they painted the birthplace or the figure of Valentin.

The others were introduced to the time of baroque by the leader of the museum and her co-worker Chrtine Liebl. In addition to a short overview of Rathgeber's life and history, the students got a questionnaire and had to handle with various tasks, in which they had to deal with newest technique: For example, how can you use an audioguide? The particular of this touring exhibition is, that music examples can also be practiced to the appropriate texts. The childred were very enthusiasticly minded and left sincere words of thanks in the guest book.

Honor bestowed on Prof. Dr. Franz Krautwurst

On October 11, 2008 the Valentin-Rathgeber-Society bestowed honor on its honorary member Prof. Dr. Franz Krautwurst in regard of his 85th birthday in the Valentin-Rathgeber-House as a lifetime achievement award. Krautwurst is widely considered to be the leading expert in regional music history. In numerous contributions he cared about life and work of Valentin Rathgeber. He wrote many pioneering articles that have influenced the research on Rathgeber's life to a great deal. Down to the present day he comments to the topic Valentin Rathgeber in a profound way demonstrated by his recent article on „Valentin Rathgeber in St. Gallen (1731)". The Rathgeber research owes many new and interesting stimuli to the indefatigable diligence of the jubilarian. One has to be curious on the unknown sources he will reveal in the future.
