A variety of Marian works imply that Rathgeber had a special devotion to Mary. Partly he has also written the text to these works. Thus he dedicated his opus V to "Mary, Queen of Heaven": " In case this work won't be performed correctly, you know, o Lady, that we are sighing more than we are singing in this valley."
